What is Defending Wisconsin?

Defending Wisconsin is a PAC registered with the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board. Defending Wisconsin is a statewide effort promoting and defending democracy in this great state of ours. We will have field offices across the state as well as volunteers and staff across the state. We will run statewide advertising campaigns promoting our initiatives.

So what are your initiatives?

Currently our initiatives are related to preparing for a successful recall of Governor Scott Walker. By state law we cannot collect signatures for recall until November. However, what we can do is advertise and collect names and addresses. That way, when November comes, all we have to do is go collect the signatures, they are already lined up. With Statewide advertising we can draw masses to the petition.

So what makes you different than all of the other groups ?

We were formed as a collaboration between many different groups. What all of the recall groups lacked was the legal ability to fundraise. So we decided to create a PAC so we could create a collaborative effort. The result: It’s been very effective so far. We currently have an estimated 110,000+ people who have signed the various petitions that are collaborating with us. That’s 1/5 of the way there. It is essential we have organization and early if we want a successful recall. So I am asking you all to please donate what you can; $5, $10, $100 or anything above or between, every bit counts. Together we can show Scott Walker what democracy looks like.
